The Chief Executive Officer of Adwinton Trading and Investment Ltd, Mr. Awal Yahya, has called on workers particularly those in the agribusiness sector to adopt a more disciplined and quality-focused approach to their work in order to remain competitive in both local and international markets.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with Abyna Mandy on PCG TV’s Business Hour, Mr. Awal emphasized that prioritizing quality over quantity is essential to preventing the rejection of locally produced goods. He noted that many agricultural products fail to meet required standards due to a lack of attention to quality control.
According to him, this ongoing challenge has contributed significantly to the country’s increasing reliance on imported goods, despite having the capacity to produce locally. He described the situation as a critical concern that requires a shift in mindset among producers, processors, and industry players.
Mr. Awal further urged stakeholders in the agricultural value chain to embrace best practices, adhere to standards, and commit to excellence in production. He stressed that improving quality will not only boost confidence in local products but also open doors to international markets.
The Adwinton CEO’s remarks add to the growing conversation around strengthening Ghana’s agribusiness sector and reducing dependence on imports through improved standards and productivity.
