A Ghanaian agribusiness company, Adwinton Trading and Investment Ltd, has been appointed as the official distributor for Henan Lima Biotechnology Co., Ltd, marking a new international partnership aimed at strengthening agricultural supply chains in West Africa.
The agreement, confirmed through a formal distribution authorization, grants Adwinton exclusive rights to register, distribute, and market Lima Biotechnology products in Ghana for a two-year period from March 2026 to March 2028.

Henan Lima Biotechnology, based in China, is known for producing agricultural and biotechnology solutions used in livestock production and farming systems. The partnership is expected to improve access to such products for farmers and agribusiness operators in Ghana.
Adwinton Trading and Investment Ltd, which has been expanding its presence in the agricultural sector, will also be permitted to use Lima Biotechnology’s branding and trademarks in its operations under the terms of the agreement.

Analysts say the deal reflects a broader trend of increasing collaboration between African agribusiness firms and international biotechnology companies, particularly in response to rising demand for improved agricultural productivity and food security.
Ghana’s agricultural sector remains a key contributor to the country’s economy, employing a significant portion of the population. However, challenges such as access to quality inputs and modern farming technologies continue to affect output.
Partnerships like this, observers note, may help bridge those gaps by connecting local distributors with global manufacturers.
Adwinton has not disclosed the financial details of the agreement but indicated that the collaboration aligns with its long-term strategy to expand its product offerings and strengthen its distribution network across the country.
The agreement comes as Ghana intensifies efforts to modernise its agricultural systems and encourage private sector participation in agribusiness development.
