Early Life and Foundations
Born in Bugsah, Northern Region, Yahya Awal grew up in a household that emphasised discipline, hard work, and self-reliance. The values instilled by his parents guided his formative years, nurturing an early curiosity for business and practical problem-solving that would later define his career.
Education and Skills
Awal’s academic journey began at the University for Development Studies (UDS), where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Technology. He further developed technical expertise with data analysis training through the ICC Certified Data Analyst (CDA) programme, gaining proficiency in Microsoft Excel for sales tracking, inventory management, and strategic decision-making.
Complementing his technical knowledge, Awal pursued certifications in small and medium enterprise (SME) development through programmes with GIZ and the Kosmos Innovation Center (KIC), focusing on business development, financial management, operational efficiency, and growth strategies.
Career Path
Awal’s professional journey began in retail and field sales. At Digimas Electricals (2015–2016), he managed shop operations and customer service, gaining foundational experience in business operations. He then moved to J.A. Biney & Company Ltd (2017–2018) as a field sales personnel, honing skills in customer engagement, product promotion, and market negotiation.
From 2018 to 2020, he joined Superlife Network Marketing Company, building and managing a growing sales network while developing leadership and team-building capabilities.
In 2020, Awal founded Adwinton Trading & Investment Ltd, an agribusiness specialising in the retail and wholesale of feed ingredients and agricultural commodities. Under his leadership, the company has expanded rapidly, establishing multi-branch operations across the Greater Accra, Central Region and Eastern regions, reaching livestock farmers with essential agricultural inputs.

Awal’s journey from field sales to CEO of a multi-branch agribusiness is a testament to his strategic vision and entrepreneurial drive. He has:
